Webquest

We searched for already made Webquests to use. Check mine out. Here is one on a Healthy Heart. This is another on 10th grade PE/Health class. Another Educational resource is Thinkfinity. It provides free lesson plans and other educational resources. Here is a health lesson plan on changing lifestyles and heart health. Another site works on reaction time. You can apply this game for PE and then actually try to play baseball. Maybe not throwing 90 mph but it will stilll give the students the jist. Here is another interactive game on human anatomy.

Calendar

We created a calendar on google. We added dates and so forth. We also learned how to share the calendar. We embedded a link.

Jep./Action buttons

We downloaded a Jeporady template from Mr. Pierce's FTP site. We learned how to make the action buttons for the game. We had to create a Jep. game in our content area. We editted the hyperlinks, and linked them to each other. We also began to create our own website. Check out Coach Whitford's page!!(see link in My links)

We filled out an evaluation on a fellow classmate'es blog. We basically gave it a grade and went through and made sure all the links and everything worked and all the blogs were up to date with standards.

Powerpoint

We had a lecture that went over powerpoint, different formats, how to save and change file types. Then we searched the web for a powerpoint presentation in our content area. We then saved it to our desktops. Next we saved it in powerpoint show and an older version of powerpoint so it can open on the web. We also saved it as a PDF format. We then published it as a webpage. Now we put them on our FTP site and are linking them to our blogs. We have now published the powerpoint and PDF format in google docs.



This satisfies the ISTE standard number 3 because it inspires using all digital resources and knowing how to use them. It also helps teachers to more effectively communicate relevant information.3. Podcast

Slowly this podcast is being put together.This is my script for it. After a week of finally getting the software downloaded, baseball trips, practice, and other various family and personal reasons, my podcast has been recorded. Finally, here is my podcast.

LP and Test

I made a Health Lesson plan on obesity. I used the Intel tool for my tech in this lesson. I used the same project I made earler in the semester. I am enhancing the student's knowledge on this tool and educating them about factors and risks with obesity. I made a test on the LP I made.

Online Graphics

I uploaded a picture of the Food Pyramid, on my online album, because as a Health/Phys. Ed teacher, I could reuse it.

Kids Zone-Day 2-IEPs

We created another graph in kids zone today. We tok information from 2 websites and had to do a little math in the process to get our numbers. We took the 3 poorest states and West Virginia from this chart. Then we took the poorest states and looked at the NAEP site to get percentages of students with IEPs. I converted the percentages to number of students based on the information on the page. I inserted this information to Kids Zone, made a bar graph, and then uploaded this to Google Docs.
I think this really covers standard number 1 in the ISTE Standards. I think we created a project that could enhance, promote, support thinking and initiative. I think it also gives students a chance to engage in real world numbers and let them explore with this tool to achieve something greater. (a graph)

We then used a crappy graphics website to create a vienn diagram. This could be used for something simple for the students to explore and be easy for them to understand. They could be imaginative and creative with this. Check out my vienn diagram.

Kids Zone

We created a chart today on kids zone. We took information from the NAEP website with all 50 states scores. Kids zone is a tool that is very easy to make graphs and charts on. You could apply this to your classroom learning in a variety of ways. This would be one way I could incorporate technology and math into my Physical Education program. I could have them keep certain records and insert them into the charts on a weekly, monthly, or whatever time frame I choose to use. This is meeting the ISTE standards #2 b. I am creating a lesson that would grab the students attention with something free and easy for them to gain curiousity in. Hopefully, inspire them to take a closer look at it and become more familiar with it on their own time. The INTASC standards have been met by me giving them knowledge and using the media and web to teach them my lesson. Take a look at my line graph.

Desktop Image.

This is a desktop model I took from an online website. It was labelled. I took the labels off of it to be able to use it in my health class. I saved the picture to my desktop. Then, I opened paint and editted the picture there. This would be a great tool for any picture you want to edit or even create to use in your classes.
I used the INTASC standard, comunication and knowledge. I used the media and the web to assist me in the classroom learning. I also met the standard in the 2a of the ISTE. Also, I used 3a of the ISTE. I demonstrated a knowledge in technology and taught them how to transfer information from one system to another.

PhotoStory-My Life

Day 4-Intel

We went to the Intel website. (see link in FSU Links.) We learned our to creat projects on visual ranking tool. We made a teacher account. I made 3 teams, Team 1, 2, 3 with the passwords being the numbers. They are to order the Factors in Obesity from the greatest cause to the least leading factor in their own opinion. They can even look at the other teams work as they are going along. Feel free to check it out and even participate.

Day 2

Well, today in class we learned a whole bunch of new stuff. We updated a spreadsheet at the same time. It was pretty cool watching people edit it as you watched your computer. We added our blog sites to the spreadsheet. We also learned about FTP storage that we have through fairmont state's website and our UCA names. Then we started discussing our photostory movie we will begin making next class. This was a pretty interesting class learning all the new ideas. The still movie should be pretty fun...

Day 1

Hey Guys,

The first day today was pretty cool. We got to make these email addresses and these great Blogger pages. I mean what else could have been better? haha. I'd much rather make this and learn creative ideas than memorize and take written tests. I am excited and look forward to learning new technology.
